Beauty with brains

I recently remarked a very graceful lady as beauty with brains lady as she writes so well and her elegance is lovely.....and to my surprise she said you are the first one to call me beauty with brains and i was shocked is it....i was so sure that lady must have always got remarks when in college for her smartness, poise, charisma....and still she says no one called her beautiful....
Why is Beauty only in glam looks...

I feel Beauty is about having self confidence, the inner strength and charisma that reflects on face. Being unique in your own special ways the special qualities that you are blessed with. Every women should celebrate herself and not emulate the on screen so called perfections.

Ganpati sthapna

Ganesh Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chaturthi is Hindu festival and is celebrated with great devotion all over the country as well as outside India too by Indians all over the world.
Also called Ganesh utsav, its a 10 day festival which starts on Ganesh chaturthi and ends on anant chaturthi.

Its is believed that Lord Ganesha, the son of God Shiva and Godess Parvati bestows his presence during this festival.
Devotees of Lord Ganesha bring home Ganesha idols do the sthapna ( make them seated at a particular place and decorating the place) as per there wish say 1.5 day, 3 days, 5 days, 7 days or 9 days. and then on 10th day i.e. anant chaturthi the idol is immersed in water/ river/ sea...But these days to keep our rivers clean we can immerse idols in tub of water and then once the clay is dissolved it can be used to water plants.

Ganesha pooja on the Chaturthi day is usually performed as per the Muhurat, which can be checked form kalnirya panchang, or pundits/ guruji. Puja means the traditional ceremony by which God is worshipped.

For stapana the sthaan where Ganpati will sit. kacha rice grains/ consisdered teh symbol of growth are used to make asan by spreading them on the place. Over the rice grains, place one supaari and put haldi and kumkum on the supari.  Su[ari si also symbolism of ganesha.... "Ganpati Bappa Moriya" is recited during sthapana and then the Ganpati Idol is placed over this preparation.. Generally the senior male member brings in the idol by keeping them on head inside the house.

After the stapana supari, almond, kharik(date), one fruits and dakshina is placed over paan leaves/ beetle leaves along with A coconut.

Nevedyam is prepared of panchamrut / charnamrut ( milk, curd, honey, ghee, sugar).
Also khirapat is made of coconut.......recipe to make khirapat click here
The most favourite of all is "Modak"
Additionally fruits ans sweets are offered as prasadam.

A Tika of ashthagandha or Sandalwood paste is applied on the forehead of the Deity and other members too.

Aarti Diya's are lit and agarbatti to fragrant the place, agarbattis, dhoop, (insense and fragrance)

Then we offer 21 Druva grass blades (with 3 stems), 21 Modakas, and Flowers to Ganesha.

Importance of 21 - ekavimshati is asanskrit word which means (5+5+5+5+1) for
5 organs of perception [gyanendriya]  (nose - smell, tongue - taste, eyes -sight, skin - touch, ear - sound) +
5 organs of action (karmendriya) +
5 pancha prana (vital enrgy forces) +
5 basic elemnts of nature (panch bhoota - Prithvi(earth), Vaayu (air), Jal (rain), Agni (fire), Aakash (sky/space) and
the one mind, which all adds to 21.

Everyone doing aarti should dress well after a bath and attend the sacred rituals.
Various aarti's are perfomred the main is "sukhkarta Dukhharta varta vignachi"
"shendur la chadhayo"

in the last camphor tabs/ kapur aarti is performed and then after taking arti and offering flowers to idol prasad is distributed to all attendees.

Hartalika Puja

Hartalika Puja is performed every year during Shukla paksha tritiya of bhadrapada month.
This generally falls one day before "Ganesh Chaturthi" and three days after 'pola' amavasya.

On this day statue of God Shiva and Godess Parvati are made of Soil from tulsi flower pot for worshipping.
The mud idols are then  worshipped for marital bliss.
Its made like this because the story says goddess parvati also did puja of clay shivling in deep forest to pray to have only God Shiva as her husband....

Lot of leaves from different trees and flowers are used for ritual.

Next day udyapan is done with nevedyam of curd and rice and then the clay idols are submerged in water.

Birth of moment

In the flash of a second, In the open and close of the eyelid, In the bloom of a flower, In the turn of page, In the heat of the body and calmness of soul a moment is born, to cherish, to remember, to rejoice, to mark as a moment.

How life goes on and brain keeps on storing all the details but with time few fade away and few retain on mind. the one's we want to forget are always at the back of our mind and the one's we want to remember slips out of the storage area. How wonderful is this isn't it.

Moments are magical data of life, which in turn makes life more interesting and happening.
From the dawn to dusk, from opening of eyes to closing at night, from the move we make and the twist life takes, its all a beautiful creation.

Books books & more books...

Going to library is something which refreshes me like any best of the perfume can do to someone.
i went to library today after 6 months as after my second kid i was not able to give time to reading and there i was totally lost. which book to pick and which to leave. it was hard and i was in pool of letters i wanted to stay there only. so i picked up a recent purchase of library and came out. wanna finish the book so i can again go bk and fulfill my urge that was left behind last few months.

as i said after 6 months i was reading a book i was suggested to buy a tab or kindle to read but then i gave a thought.......can book be ever compared to electronic gadget?

going to library and searching for book is some kind of beautiful feeling getting lost in pool of books wow.... is it possible in kindle store????no no no.
if really want to save paper better plant a tree, but books are must and nothing can be compared to them.
for me kindle instead of book is like eating spirulina capsule instead of hot stuffed mouthwatering paratha.

the feel the smell the touch of book is something we can never get in electronic gadgets. the envy feel or jealous feel to see others books, the feel on others face when they see or book all this will be missing if all will carry gadgets only like laptops, tabs, kindle, eBook with them.

putting book marks or dog earing books are some things that will be missed a lot. so books are only books and nothing to beat them nothing to replace them. when you see a book they come in different sizes, different covers, different width, different looks, pages, can this be available in kindle or tab? not at all. tab or ebook have a standard size so when it comes to books, size does matter, looks do matter.

for sure a live book is something no electronic gadget can ever beat. i can read book on table, lying down, sitting, in bus, in train, plane, waiting line, queues, while eating, but its not always possible with kindle, as there is fear of it getting dropped or battery discharge. also the feel of beautiful bookmarks which i make for myself where will i mark them in kindle???no way.
sharing of personal collection is like sharing your diamond ring so a big no no will i share my kindle ever will you????????? a big no.

Bura na mano holi hai!!!

They say bura na mano holi hai but what to do for those jinhe bura lagta hai.....

I m one of them who dont like this festival just because people take advantage to get you wet and throw water balloons and shouting bura an mano holi hai. heights man if some one feels bora you cant force him or her not feel bad. It's his /her choice to feel that way.

If its only gulal still ok but use to silver and golden colors, using permanent colors adn sprays, using dirty water, use of eggs and liquor i mean where is it written that holi is festival of all these things and not colors....
